If I was King for a day

Well if we’re going to have a bit of fun with this; If I were a King for a day I would hold a referendum (that I’m sure would be popular!) to make everyone in Ireland economical equal. So in essence, that would do away with poverty. But in return everybody has to be either at school/college, sport camps or working. No more free dole!

So education will now take priorty in the lives of the people of Ireland. No one will leave the education system without getting work. Those who do their leaving certificate and don’t have either enough points, or the interest in university and also have no employment,will attend a course of their choice. So idleness will no longer be a problem in Ireland.

Having such a highly educated population should make Ireland very attractive to investers and major companies. The crime rate should also be drastically reduced as everyone will be either working or in education. Who knows, maybe it would actually work?
